Telematics (With or without a black box)

Whilst dashcam is becoming more popular, it is yet to reach widespread use and often only tells part of the story.  

Telematics remains a very useful and often underutilised source of information in both genuine disputes and fraud related claims (i.e. staged or induced accidents). 

Interestingly, it is not always necessary for a car to be fitted with a specific telematics box as a surprising amount of information can often be obtained from the cars built in computer with the right knowledge.  The information is, however, dependent on the make / model of the vehicle.
